Selkirk MLA becomes Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living
Dr. Alan Lagimodiere, MLA for the constituency of Selkirk, has been named the new Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living. The position of Legislative Assistant is filled by members of caucus in order to support cabinet ministers and to provide the assigned MLAs with additional experience.
“It is an honour to serve in this new role as Legislative Assistant,” said Lagimodiere. “Our government has made a commitment to improving health care in Manitoba and I look forward to assisting the Minister in delivering on this commitment.”
Lagimodiere was elected to his first term as MLA on April 19, 2016. Prior to his election, he enjoyed a career in business and served his community as a veterinarian for more than 25 years.
